Thank you!!

What an amazing journey this has been.  As I reflect on all of the success we've had over the years and the lives we've touched, I'd like to send a fat shout out to the volunteers who made this year, this journey, this experience possible.  A big shout out goes to Chris House who's dedicated over 100 hours to the organization over the past 3 years....your contributions were priceless.  A big shout out goes to Antonio Parker who hit the ground running and never looked back.  A special thank you to Kellen, Steve, Donovan, and my parents...without your help and resources none of this would be possible.

And while the post were extremely light this year, the impact certainly wasn't.  For those of you in Generation X still waiting for your opportunity, stop it!  Create your own opportunity and look for more opportunities to serve those who need your gifts and talents the most.  It's time to step up or step aside - let's make 2016 the best year ever!  If ever there was a time when our cities needed you, it's now

Fox 2 News Story

Great story from Fox 2 news!  Not only was The Playbook mentioned, so was the No Ceilings Scholarship! As we continue to move forward as an organization and do our small part to bring joy to playgrounds across the country, continue to search for your own "why" and discover what you have to offer to the world and when you do.....serve it (faithfully).  Here's the link to the news story from Fox 2!

R.I.P. Dr. Myles Munroe (thank you for being a mentor and an inspiration).

The Playbook...Keeping it moving when the ball stops bouncing!

What a net hanging season!  Not only did we get some nets hung and meet some wonderful kids along the way, we also published "The Playbook".  The Playbook uses the language of basketball to teach life skills to players and stresses the importance of being a SCHOLAR/athlete.  With the odds of going pro in any professional sport stacked against them, it's important that we teach our young people how to learn and incorporate critical thinking skills, communication skills, emotional intelligence, and other soft skills into their repertoire of talents....in a fun way!  The Playbook does just that!  Pick up your copy of this curriculum guide with tons of lesson plans and activities Amazon.com today

HEC-TV and Impact!

What a great weekend!  Not only did we get a chance to hang nets in Ferguson, I, along with some of our supporters, was interviewed by Nancy Pasternak of HEC-TV (St. Louis' Home of Education, Art and Culture!) I will be a part of the Impact program set to air in August for the work we've done and continue to do in the STL.  In addition, we've partnered with Southeast MO State University's Educational Access Program and will be co-sponsoring the "No Ceilings" Scholarship for incoming and currently enrolled students at Southeast!  God is soooooo good!

Let the Net Hanging Season Begin!

Spring has officially arrived and you know what that means...more cold weather! Actually, with warmer on the horizon, Neighborhood Nets will begin restoring nets to parks and communities all over the world! Last year we were able to hang nets from the Lou to Canada, but this year our goal is to cover all of the states in between. God has blessed us with a wonderful platform to show the world what small gestures can make and believe me, were just getting started. We need your help in identifying the needs - from parks, to playgrounds to that old hoop in your driveway - just let us know and were there!! Become a netcaster and spread the word about Neighborhood Nets. And in case you missed it.....we made VH1!!! Check it out!
